Wedding Photography Canada Lodge and Lakes, near Pentyrch, Cardiff South Wales - Kate and Anthony

Kate and Tony decided to have their civil wedding ceremony and reception during May, hoping that the weather would be great.   All we can all say is that on the run up to their wedding day, everybody must have had their fingers crossed, because it worked!  The rain was persistent (or something like that anyway) on the run up to their 'Big Day' but on the day, the clouds parted and we even saw some sunshine!

On the wedding day, Sue and I turned up at Kate's house in Cardiff Bay for the pre wedding photography.  Kate's mum and bridesmaids Joanne and Emma aided Kate with her preparations - well that's the story we'll all stick to anyway!  The photographs tell the beautiful story!

The Wedding and Reception Photography at Canada Lodge.

Tony was on time for the photography and the meeting with the registrars from Cardiff.  Just as well, because I decided to check out just how wet the banks alongside the lakes were.  At the top, quite dry - my confidence grew (you can see it coming!) then I must have hit the wet bit and my legs just went out from underneath me.  Thanks to having a spare pair of shoes in the car and a very helpful wedding coordinator , Sarah, giving me a towel to wipe the mud off my trousers only the wedding guests who saw it happen knew anything about it - oh and all the other guests that they told!!  Great fun, but at least I stopped Kate and Tony from going that way!

As you can see from the wedding pictures below, you can see that Kate and Tony had a really great ceremony and wedding day in general.  Tony's face at some of the remarks made by his best man Marc during his speech tell the story as well.  Some of Kate's expression show her delight in the speeches as well.  A really lovely fun day, thank you to all.

Wedding Photography Celtic Manor Lodge, Newport, South Wales - Ceri and Craig

We new we were in for a fun filled day of photography at Ceri and Craig's wedding the very first time we met them.  Then as we got to know them better, from the pre wedding chat and photo-shoot at our studio in Cardiff, we realised it was going to be something even better than that!

The Story of Ceri and Craig's Wedding Day Photography

Ceri, together with her two sisters Lynsey and Nicola prepared themselves at their parents' house in Radyr.  Sue and I walked into the melee and laughter and giggles and photographed all the preparations and other bits that make a wedding day and the photographic record of it so important - along with the fun emotions as well.

The Wedding Ceremony at St. Mary's Church, Whitchurch, Cardiff

We thought Craig would have been at the local pub, he may well have been if time had permitted!  To be honest he was only a little bit late....

The wedding ceremony was taken by Canon Rowlands with his usual sense of humour and outlook on life.  Sadly no photography is allowed during the ceremony, but we were allowed to photograph the registers signing and exit from the Church.

Photography of the Reception, Wedding Breakfast, Speeches and Dance at Celtic Manor, Newport, South Wales.

Although Ceri and Craig's reception was at the Lodge, the lovely staff of Celtic Manor allowed us to photograph the wedding portrait fun session partly in the main hotel - the central atrium photographs so well with our fish-eye lens - really different.  Then on up to the Lodge for the family photographs that Ceri and Craig had requested followed by more story telling images of the wedding day during the speeches and dance.  All the guests were kept amused by Picasso Griffiths caricatures - I did offer to start his car and get the engine warmed up for him to make a getaway, but people just love what he does!  Just as the light was dropping we did get outside for a few very quick sunset photographs - which look so dramatic in Black and White which happens to be the theme of the wedding.

Wedding Photography Miskin Manor Country Hotel near Cardiff, South Wales Helen and Jason

What an amazing day!  The weather was like a summer's day, Jason had a surprise arrival trip to Miskin Manor in a helicopter with his best man and ushers.  Helen and the girls had all their preparations at Miskin Manor  - loads of fun!  We think Jason was just a bit nervous at the start of the ceremony - but he soon relaxed when Helen walked down the aisle with her father - looking truly amazing!

Wedding Photography St. David's Hotel & Spa, Martina and Jonathan

Hats off to these two!  Martina and Jonathan took 10 minutes out, braving in the winter elements to get the pictures that they wanted overlooking Caerphilly Castle.  They had said at the pre-wedding consultation that they were going to get these pictures no matter what - and they did - and we think they were worth it too!

Bethan and Chris' Wedding at Miskin Manor, near Cardiff

We started the day at Bethan's mum's house, the usual pandemonium with hairdressing apparatus, bucketfuls of make-up bits 'n bobs, wedding gown - all the things that go into getting a bride ready for her special day!  Then off to the Salem Chapel, just around the corner where we met up with Chris and his side of the family, along with all the wedding guests.

After the lovely service, we all went off to the Miskin Manor Country Hotel, for some stunning photographs in the gardens - looking amazing in their gold and red Autumn livery.

We managed to sneak a few images in the main lounge and the entrance hall in front of the Glyndwr Suite just before Bethan and Chris made their entrance for their Wedding Breakfast

Marwell Zoo Wedding Photography - Ali and Bengi

To say that this is a wedding venue slightly out of the ordinary is probably the understatement of the decade.  If you love animals as much as Ali and Bengi do - this is the place for your wedding ceremony and reception.  Both Ali and Bengi, along with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen made ready in the Marwell Hotel, just alongside Marwell zoo itself.  The journey from the hotel to Marwell House takes place on a Land Train towed by a tractor!  They even let you put bows on it.  This is pretty much the story of the whole day - the management and staff at Marwell House just couldn't have been more helpful to everybody!  I had a crazy idea of making a slideshow while the guests were enjoying the wedding breakfast - and the staff found a projector and screen and sneakily put it up in the main entrance as a surprise for the bride and groom.  LOVELY!.  Feeding the ring-tailed lemurs, in their enclosures was just out of this world too.  Say nothing about the amazing shots we took alongside the glass leopard enclosure, when the leopard just looked straight up at Ali and Bengi - what a moment!  Does it sound like we enjoyed this as well - we certainly did!
